Financial Education Week

FEW is a local mobilization effort between the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, the Cities of National City and Chula Vista, Educational Institutions, Community-Based Organizations and volunteers.
These events consists of several financial literacy activities which include a financial empowerment fair and county wide educational workshops preceded by a three-day youth entrepreneurship scholarship competition. The mini-entrepreneurship course and financial education workshops are conducted in multiple locations across the county including at Alliant International University and the San Diego County Office of Education in National City.
Through the collaborative academic efforts of Alliant International University, National City Chamber of Commerce, California Foundation Fund and the San Diego County Office of Education; high school students participate in an on-campus three-day entrepreneurship and leadership training competition.
These community events not only helps jump start our local economy with an innovative entrepreneurship program; it also empowers under-resourced communities with financial literacy workshops.
The California Foundation Fund is the copy owner and creator of the youth entrepreneurship program [synthesized], its curriculum, teacher’s guides, and student workbooks. CAFF is also the resource coordinator and the fiscal agent for the Financial Education Week – San Diego initiative.
