Bob Morris | Board-Member
Bob Morris is Director of Development for Mercy Hospital Foundation. Mercy Hospital Foundation is the philanthropic division of Scripps Mercy Hospital, a two campus hospital with one campus in Chula Vista and one in San Diego. Scripps Mercy is the southern part of the Scripps Health system. Bob has been with Scripps Health for 5 years and has also worked at the Foundation’s headquarters in La Jolla. Prior to joining Scripps Health Bob was Vice President of Development for the San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross where he was responsible for fundraising as well as sales and marketing for the chapter’ services. Bob began his career in fundraising at Episcopal Community Services (ECS) where he was Director of Development, Vice President of Development and finally Executive Director of the ESC Foundation.
Bob is currently on the Board of Directors of the Downtown San Diego Partnership and The California Foundation Fund. He has served as a Director of the YMCA of La Jolla, St James by the Sea Episcopal Church, The Human Dignity Foundation and the Evergreen Foundation. Bob has served on the City of San Diego Homeless Taskforce, The City of San Diego Senior Advisory Board and the Committee on Community Development Block Grant Funding Reform. He was a San Diego County Board of Supervisors appointee to the Board of Trustees for the Polinsky Center for Children and he was a member of the White House Committee to End Chronic Homelessness/San Diego.
Bob volunteers for ECS, The Chicano Federation, Catholic Charities and St Paul’s Senior Homes and Services. Bob has received the Daughter’s of the American Revolution George Washington Medal for community service, a San Diego County Board of Supervisors Proclamation for service to the County of San Diego, and was named by San Diego Magazine to the List of 50 People to Watch in 2004. Bob is a member of the Lincoln Club of San Diego and has been active in politics and supported candidates and causes as a political independent.
